For the realization of Spanish projects abroad in the field of Archaeology and Human Paleontology
Call for grants for research teams that develop Archaeology or Human Paleontology projects outside Europe and belong to a Spanish public institution, such as universities, research institutes, CSIC, ICREA or similar.
Applications submitted electronically must be for ongoing research projects, with a duration and future perspective of at least 3 years. The grants applied for will be for the year of the call, with no commitment on the part of the Foundation to fund plausible subsequent applications in future calls. It will always be necessary to pass the usual annual assessment.
The deadline for submitting applications will be open from 10 a.m. on March 10 to 10 a.m. on April 10, 2025 (Spanish peninsular time).

2. CVA of each of the PIs. The specific CVA for the AEI can be filled in using the FECYT CVN editor (https://cvn.fecyt.es/editor/index.html?locale=eng#INDEX) or from any other system adapted to the CVN standard. 3. Total budget for the project, indicating what other sources of funding are available (funding institution and amount). In addition, the items and the percentage to be allocated to the Palarq Foundation must be specified.
4. Official permit in the name of the Spanish PI applying for the grant from the Palarq Foundation. If the Spanish PI or PIs are not named on the permit, they must present delegated authorization from the permit holder, issued by the corresponding state authority, which expressly refers to the interventions related to the Spanish project. In countries where research and excavation permits are required for the Spanish team, both must be presented (Attach PDF)
5. Graphic material
- Geographical location of the site
- Site plan (in jpg format, 300pp quality)
- 5 images representative of the project (for information purposes)
- Video (optional)
6. In the case of projects already funded by the Palarq Foundation in the last two calls, a scientific-technical report must also be attached describing the work carried out with the aid granted by the Foundation, as well as the results obtained in the interventions themselves (maximum 60,000 characters)
Once your application has been approved and the interventions have been completed:
1. The following shall be submitted within a maximum period of 45 days after the end of the campaign:
a) A scientific-technical report
b) A financial report from the institution receiving the money, indicating the expenses incurred and specifying the items approved in the application budget. The Palarq Foundation may request additional documentation if necessary.
2. Failure to submit the documentation within the established deadline, without prior notification of the justified reasons for the delay, will result in the rejection of the project itself and any others that may be submitted by the same person in future calls for proposals.

CALL FOR GRANTS FOR THE APPLICATION OF EXPERIMENTAL SCIENCE (“ANALYTICAL”) METHODOLOGIES AND TECHNIQUES IN ARCHAEOLOGY AND HUMAN PALEONTOLOGY
The Palarq Foundation is offering grants for the application of analytical techniques to archaeological and paleontological assets from one or more sites.
Preference will be given to projects related to archaeological intervention work, such as prospecting campaigns, excavations, surveys, etc. Projects that promote the application of current and new technologies will be taken into consideration.
The call, aimed at Spanish teams, seeks to promote this type of study in Spain, complementing the analyses requested in research projects currently underway at the time of application.
Grants will have a maximum limit of €5,000.
The call will remain open from Friday, November 7, 2025, until Friday, December 5, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. Spanish peninsular time and can be accessed online via the following registration form.

Once your application has been approved:
1. Failure to submit the documentation within the established deadline, without prior notification of the justified reasons for the delay, will result in the rejection of the project itself and any others that the same person may submit in future calls for proposals. Plausible delays on the part of the laboratory must be notified to the Palarq Foundation at least one month before the end of the agreement
The documentation required by the Foundation will be as follows:
- Scientific-technical report
- Financial report with the invoice and administrative justification. The reports provided by the laboratories shall be submitted.
2. Those responsible for the approved projects shall be obliged to acknowledge in their publications the support received from the Palarq Foundation through this call for proposals, as well as to send the Foundation a copy (digital format is sufficient) of said publications.
DECISION-MAKING PROCESS
The Evaluation Committee examines all the requests it receives and, based on the quality of the information received and the project’s alignment with the Foundation’s objectives and values, decides to:
Accept it partially or totally.
Postpone the decision, requesting a more in-depth study.
Reject the request.
Once the decision has been made, the Foundation will contact the person responsible to inform them of the result of the process and the steps to follow, in the event that the request is not rejected.
