GRANT FORM FOR NEW PROJECTS

For the implementation of Spanish palaeontological and archaeological projects abroad

Call for grants to research teams developing projects in Archaeology or Human Palaeontology outside Europe and belonging to a Spanish public institution, such as universities, research institutes, CSIC, ICREA and similar.

The applications submitted must have as a framework, living research projects, with a duration and future perspective of at least 3 years. The grants applied for will be for the year of the call, without any commitment on the part of the Foundation to finance plausible future applications in future calls. It will always be necessary to pass the annual evaluation.

The call will be open from 12 June to 12 July 2024, both inclusive, before 10:00 a.m. (Spanish time).

Applications must be submitted electronically by filling in the following application form.

Once their application has been approved and after the completion of the interventions:

  1. Both a technical and an economic report shall be submitted within the first 15 days of January of the year following the execution of the campaign. (min. 40,000 characters including spaces, max. about 60,000 including spaces). Failure to submit the documentation within the established deadline, without having previously been informed of the justified reasons for the delay, will imply the rejection of the project itself and of others that may be presented by the same person responsible in future calls.
  2. Scientific-technical report including a description of the intervention/s carried out and indicated in the application report of the corresponding call, indicating the methodology applied, the results obtained in relation to the objectives set, the bibliography used, and the publications derived from the project.
  3. Graphic material. A maximum of 10 images of the project must be included, including a map of the location of the intervention site and a plan of the site, with special emphasis on the area where the intervention has been carried out with the help of the Palarq Foundation.
  4. Economic report including the amount used of the items approved in the budget of the application, following the proposed itemised model attached to the application.
  5. It will be the obligation of those responsible for the approved projects to attest in their publications to the aid received from the Palarq Foundation through this call, as well as to send to the Foundation a copy (sufficiently digital) of said writings.

Applications must include the objectives to be developed for the year of the call. As in any type of call, there is no commitment on the part of the Foundation to finance plausible grants to be applied for in future calls for this same project, and it will always be necessary to pass the annual assessment.

DECISION PROCESS

The Evaluation Committee examines all the requests it receives and, on the basis of the quality of the information received and the fit of the project with the objectives and values of the Foundation, decides:

  • To accept it partially or fully.
  • Defer the decision, requesting further study.
  • Reject the request.

Once the decision has been taken, the Foundation will contact the person responsible to inform them of the outcome of the process and the steps to be taken if the request is not rejected.
